The Raptor Center is thrilled to announce $54,000 in matching gift funds for Give to the Max day. This means all gifts up to $54,000 will be matched on Thursday, November 14 by three loyal donors; Rachel Hollstadt, the Acorn Charitable Trust and the Sarah J. Andersen Fund of the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.
During this timeframe, TRC raises a significant portion of the funds needed to support our work. Please give generously. If you have questions, please contact Ellen Orndorf at email@example.com or 612-624-8457.
Wildlife rehabilitation is full of highs and lows, and while we wish we could save every raptor that comes through our clinic doors, the truth is that there are many hard decisions we have to make for the health and wellness of each individual bird. For those we cannot save, we strive to use their stories to inform our research and to educate others.
On Friday, October 18 we received a very surprising patient in our clinic – a nestling barn owl!
In all of The Raptor Center’s 45 years, we’ve never had a nestling barn owl admitted to our clinic. While barn owls are known to occasionally nest in Minnesota, there are very few reported nests as our state is just on the edge of their typical nesting range.
