Training for professionals working with raptors
Wildlife rehabilitators and veterinarians typically employ several bandaging techniques to support the healing process. However, each technique has pitfalls, and if applied incorrectly, can actually do more harm than good. This course provides you with instruction on when and how to apply basic bandages such as:
- Wing bandages, including figure of eights, wing wraps, curved edge splints, and body wraps
- Leg bandages, including modified Robert Jones and leg tape splints
- Foot bandages, including interdigitating bandages, ball bandages, and plantar casts
This course also teaches you how to obtain information on creating and applying tail protectors and wrist guards to help prevent management-related injuries.
