Training for professionals working with raptors
Raptor Medical Care and Management
This six-week, online course presents the most common raptor injuries and illnesses encountered by those working with sick, injured, and captive raptors. Course materials cover clinical signs of distress, disease, and illness, as well as diagnostics and general treatment protocols using a case-based learning approach. The course also teaches you how to apply best practices to manage raptors during the rehabilitation process. Information provided is specific to fully-flighted raptors—post fledging age through adulthood. This course offers up to 9 continuing education credits, as certified by Minnesota’s Board of Veterinary Medicine.
Please note: previously, Introduction to Raptor Rehabilitation and Basic Emergency Care was/is a pre-requisite for this course. This course has been revised so students can register for either course independently. Registration will be accepted up until the day the course starts.
There is a weekly, live interaction with an instructor each Tuesday night of this course from 7:00 p.m. CT to approximately 8:30 p.m. CT. These live presentations will be recorded for alternative viewing times.
